Economics, The Cheerful Science

Economics is the Cheerful Science. Economists claim that people who study economics are happier. As for the economists I can say that I am happy with my field. I have been in CA for the last week, first in Monterey for the Public Choice Society Meetings now in San Jose. Did I go the famous aquarium or see the town, no I stayed in the hotel and listened to talks on economics. When I go out with colleagues at the end of the day we talk about economics. Let's face it people this stuff is fun and exciting!
The other day I posted on why political science and not economics is the dismal science. Today more evidence that economics is fun and makes us happy. Don Troop writes in the Chronicle of Higher Education that
